meh-TAB-uh-sis / mɛˈtæbəsɪs

A transition that summarizes what has been said and introduces what follows: “So much for the causes; now the consequences.” It helps the audience follow the argument’s structure.

"So much for the causes; now for the consequences."

Don't confuse it with. Metanoia revises a statement; metabasis merely pivots between sections.
