Pathetic Fallacy
Nature mirroring human emotion — storms for turmoil, spring for hope — as if the world felt what the character feels. Writers use it to let the setting carry the psychology.
The storm on the heath matching Lear's madness.
Don't confuse it with Personification. Ordinary personification needn't reflect anyone's inner state; pathetic fallacy specifically syncs outer weather to inner weather.
